Joe has a blog on xanga.com. You've probably seen the link in our "favorite sites" section over there <------------ Check it out...you *probably* won't regret it. :)
He usually does little creative writing posts. Most of the stories are loosely based on truth (which makes them even funnier) and are a lot like our previous post (which if you didn't catch it, he happened to write). He's really quite talented and has a few faithful followers.
Yesterday we had plans to drive down and meet Letta in Salt Lake. Before we left, he found out that his blog was featured on the front page of xanga. It's pretty cool to get featured and an easy way to get more people to read his stuff.
So, later that day he brings it up in the car very casually, "So, you probably don't care, but my blog was featured on the front page of xanga today." He didn't think I'd care? Maybe he thought that because I tease him sometimes about being slightly addicted to xanga. Maybe he thought that because, while it's generating a lot of traffic onto his blog, it's really not that big of a deal to him so he figured it wouldn't be a big deal to me either. I'm not really sure why. Whatever the reason, I think his blog is awesome and I wanted to brag a little about how awesome he is. If you're still reading thing, I'm sorry for bragging.
On another note, while we were in Salt Lake I bought my brides maid dress for Lisa's wedding in June. I hate going to places like David's Bridal where they feel like they need to hold your hand through the store. It makes me feel like a 5 year old and while I can understand that the dresses are expensive, customers should at least feel like they have the option of looking on their own...especially when they know EXACTLY what they need. And if someone is shopping for a wedding that is 4 months away, I'm pretty sure that they understand you need to order well in advance to make sure that you get it on time. For some reason the lady at the front felt the need to tell me that more than once in a very condescending tone (as if I didn't hear her the first time). Bleh. So that's my rant about that. Who knew I could find so much to gripe about from my half hour visit there!
We visited my Great-Grandma Chandler too. In fact, that was our reason for making the trip. She's doing pretty well for her age (mid 90's or something). She's just becoming a little forgetful, which I think is probably normal. At least she recognized us as family when we showed up unexpectedly even if we did have to remind her of our names frequently. I can only hope that I'd be doing as well as she is when I reach her age.
After our little visit, Joe and I took the opportunity to go to Ikea since it's one of our favorite stores and its two hours away. We bought a whole bunch of awesomeness and all for under $20.
So to wrap up this not-so-short blog into a few sentences: Joe is funny. David's Bridal sucks. Grandma isn't getting any younger. Ikea is awesome. The End.
